FAQ

Q: When can I expect to receive my piece?
A: We will contact you within 24 hours of your purchase to schedule a delivery time that works for you! Typically not more then a week, often within the next few days.

Q: In what condition will my piece arrive?
A: Vintage furniture is old by definition so we put together this handy guide for more information. Each product listing will describe the condition according to this guide.

Q: Where do you deliver?
A: We offer delivery services within Washington and Oregon, primarily servicing the Seattle and Portland areas. If you are within range of these major centers we will discuss with you on a case by case basis. Additional delivery charges may apply depending on distance from our standard routes.

Q: Is there a delivery fee?
A: If you are in Seattle, then no! Our pricing includes delivery and taxes. If you are in Portland there is an additional $250 delivery fee. If you are located in Washington or Oregon State but are outside of Seattle or Portland, please send us an email to discuss delivery options before completing your purchase. More information here.

Q: Can I view in person before purchasing?
A: At this time, our warehouse is not open to the public and we do not offer in-person viewings or pickups. However, we strive to provide detailed descriptions and images of our furniture online to help you make an informed decision. We’re also happy to answer any questions you may have to ensure you’re confident in your purchase.

Q: Do you offer returns?
A: No. All sales are final. We aim to be as transparent as possible in our product listings and condition guide but we understand the vintage means old and that can mean something a bit different to each person. If you are unsure and need more photos, please let us know!

Q: Is this piece veneer?
A: Most likely, yes. The majority of our Mid-Century Modern furniture is made with veneer. However, even solid wood pieces usually incorporate veneer. When a piece is solid wood, it will be specifically noted in the product description.

Q: Are the drawers dovetail?
A: Mid Century Modern furniture construction used a variety of different types of drawer joints. While dovetailed joints are common and easy to recognize, many pieces feature other strong joints. We don’t include the specifics of the joinery in every description, but we thoroughly check every drawer for sturdiness. We shake, rattle, and test them to make sure they were built to last and we repair or reinforce any drawers that need attention. For more details on vintage drawer construction, check out our blog.

Q: What does the back of the piece look like?
A: Most of the dressers and cabinets we come across were designed to be placed against a wall, so their backs are typically unfinished. They are usually made from hardboard or plywood. These materials were chosen for their strength and resistance to warping. This helps maintain the structure of the piece while keeping it lightweight.

If a piece has a finished back, we’ll be sure to mention it in the listing description and include photos.
