Our Story
Alisha’s love for vintage began with family, spending weekends exploring antique stores and markets. Her entrepreneurial journey started in 8th grade, selling vintage clothing at a shop in downtown Vancouver. In 2009, a poorly painted Mid-Century credenza gifted to her by her mom ignited her enthusiasm for restoring vintage furniture to its original wood. This led to the founding of House of Cascadia, reflecting her appreciation for timeless design. With over three decades in the vintage industry, Alisha’s discerning eye ensures our commitment to supplying Seattle with premium Mid Century furniture.
Joining Alisha is Roger, who manages the website, warehouse, and deliveries. His focus on logistics and customer service ensures a streamlined experience from browsing to bringing your new piece home. Together they are committed to offering the finest of Mid Century Modern furniture and providing exceptional service.
Our Collection
House of Cascadia prides itself on offering exclusive Midcentury Modern dressers and credenzas, primarily made in North America. We focus on rare and unique, often unmarked pieces rather than well-known items, which keeps our shop different from the norm. We take time to carefully restore and refinish pieces that need attention so that they retain their original charm. We even create custom hardware to replace broken or lost components, preserving the integrity and style of the Mid Century Modern era.
The Truth About Veneer
At House of Cascadia, we are vocal about the true value of wood veneer. Most of the vintage dressers and credenzas we feature were made using real wood veneer, a hallmark of Mid-Century Modern furniture. Veneer allowed for stunning designs and diverse wood grains, offering benefits that solid wood alone cannot achieve. We proudly highlight the unique beauty that wood veneer brings to our catalog.
